Inside the Lodge: a Look at Freemasonry

A great number misunderstandings surround the Free Mason society - often negative inferring of a network of professionals trading secret business deals, or yet greater wicked insinuations. Nevertheless, nothing could be further from the truth. Freemasonry proffers an opportunity for men to gather and partake in affable fellowship. Improving oneself is a primary aspect of freemasonry. The Free Mason society advances assisting others also, and charity is a concrete method in which members assist those.

One of Freemasonry’s rules is not to solicit people to become members. Still, any individual should feel uninhibited to communicate with any Mason to find out more information about Freemasonry.

Membership is for males only, over eighteen years of age, and you must meet the standards of reputation and character, should be thought of as having strong moral character, and believe in a supreme being.

Anyone who wants to become a member has to be commended by 3 members of the lodge he wishes to become a member in. He has to acknowledge that his reputation and character will be looked into. After approval by the Masons of that lodge, he will be accepted as an applicant for membership in Freemasonry.

Members frequently adorn items such as Union Jack badges that casually identify themselves to other Masons and also communicate the lodge they are a member of.
