The art scene in Riverside California seems to be a steadfast community; however despite its enduring qualities it seems to have plateaued to an unchanging level of interest for quite some time. There are still very active portions within the art community in the area but for the most part it seems stuck in its ways. A few skilled artists who seem to have done their homework with anatomy and exploring more than what lies beyond there immediate lives. Some of the most interesting bits of flare that have traveled through the area have been outside artist exhibitions. Sadly the community itself that is actually indigenous to the area is more reminiscent of a high school or early college level.

It almost makes you want to refrain from a career in Art and lean more towards a profession that may be in more demand such as Graphic or Web design in Riverside. The studio arts seem to have taken a turn for the worst as far as productivity and monetary success.

More lucrative creative careers are developing interest and attention in the community as well. Institutions with higher level design degrees are not only flourishing but finding attention in smaller communities where it is now obvious that work is work regardless of whether one is living in the industry hub of Los Angeles or fifty plus miles away in the Inland Empire.
